A wet lease, commonly structured as ACMI, means the lessor supplies the Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance and Insurance. The lessee typically remains responsible for commercial operation and agreed direct operating expenses such as fuel, airport charges, navigation, handling, catering and similar route-related costs.
Final responsibility for each cost and operational item is governed by the executed lease agreement.
A damp lease sits between a dry lease and a full wet lease. The lessor supplies the aircraft plus some, but not necessarily all, of the operating resources. A common structure is aircraft plus cockpit crew, while the lessee provides cabin crew; however, the exact structure can be customized by agreement.
Damp lease structures vary by jurisdiction, AOC arrangements, regulatory approvals and contract.
